Christmas in Paul, ID!

Santa found us at Grandma & Grandpa Browns house. We arrived at 12:00 am and Christmas commenced.

Opening presents at Grandma's house! A list of some of the things that Zack got: A baseball glove and baseball cap, a bop bag, ice skates, tonka truck fire fighter car set, a football, a football sleeping bag and lots of goodies.

Audrey's list: A monkey sleeping bag, a fancy nancy sleep wear set with robe and matching slippers, a caboodle, hair bows, nail polish, ice skates, barbie and barbie horse, phew and a lot of goodies.

While we were in Paul, ID we went to the local ski area and they had a tubing hill. We had a blast and the kids loved it. We also had a fire, roasted hot dogs and marshmellows complete with hot chocolate. Yummy. There was a little bit of snowmobiling that went on as well. Here we have all the cousins minus John and Brooklyn's two boys. We did skype them so at one point we were all in the same room togther. Thank heaven for skype. Thank you grandma and grandpa for the new pajamas! The adults all recieved hot dog roastin sticks with our names on them. They were fantastic. Here the kids put on the nativity for us. What fun. They were all so excited. Hopefully next time we can have even more there to help in our story.

Here is a quick story to remember our Christmas by. Sickness yes... I think this was the year of sickness at Christmas. Almost everyone got it. Especially Audrey at three am on Christmas Eve. We had to be careful not to scare santa because we were up watching movies all night long.... oh yeah did I forget the puking. You know what is really funny about it all is that no one else even woke up. Puking, laundry, movies, half naked kids in bed and just Audrey and I to the lights of the christmas tree.

Christmas in Bear Lake!

Merry Christmas Grandpa Reese. We spent Christmas Eve in Bear Lake with Grandpa & Grandma Reese and uncles Josh and Colten. We had a wonderful time. The food was excellent the house cozy and the comanionship even better!

Probably our favorite experience with Grandpa Reese. A horse and hay ride on Christmas Eve delivering treats to the neighbors and singing carols. I can not think of a better way to get into the Christmas spirit. Zackery enjoyed it so much he still talks about it.

Audrey loved riding on the sleighs. Zackery..... well he rode for a little while then was content to sit and watch the horse clip clop along. Audrey was the only girl with Jason's three boys there! She giggled and giggled at the boys who promptly had to show off! The kids are being pulled behind the horse hay ride. It was a blast. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you Grandpa Reese!

Holidays are hard for everyone to get together when families grow and grow. Jason and Jami were able to come with their three boys, Uncle Josiah, Uncle Josh, Uncle Colton, and Ryan and I with our two kids.
Fun story about our traveling. We actually had great weather to travel by and made it to all of our destinations fairly un-harmed. We drove the Montana way to get to Bear Lake from Denver. If you have ever traveled this way you will know that there is not a whole from in between. You are pretty much in the middle of no where passing a few and far between places to stop. Well it was at one of these far between places that Zackery decides to bite off the head of his little Jesse doll and swallow it. Yes!! Can you imagine well... thank goodness he did not choke, but you know what is coming..... he threw up all over. Hurray just what we needed. So we tried to make it to the next available place to stop which was a ways. Then get everything out and washed in a little sink in the convience store bathroom. It gets better, this particular convience store said, "Bathroom for customers only" well we went right on it and used the bathroom. The sink plugged up and there was sign on the mirror telling us to not drink the water. Yes!!!! I know that your side is splitting right now over this but sadly it is true.

All of the sweet Peterson Girlies. We actually got them to sit together without crying, I know a feet in and of itself.

Here are the 'MEN' of the Peterson clan. Grandma and Grandpa got all the kids pillow pets. Hurray! We love our pillow pets. Oh yeah and Grandma & Grandpa too!

Can't have a New Years' without ice skating. The big boys played a rousing game in the morning with cousins and friends. Then the kids joined the group with ice skating and sleigh riding. Zackery loved being pulled on the ice holding onto the sleigh. Audrey tried her hand at ice skating with her new skates from Christmas. She did well and even started jumping a little too!

Peterson Thanksgiving!

Playing is in the Peterson's blood. We are currently in the cab of Cliff and Jenny's truck watching Daddy (Ryan) ski behind with a rope and a stick on little shorty big foot skiis. Do they ever grow up? I think not!

A funny little tid-bit on this holiday.... Grandpa Peterson said the prayer over the food and it was a wonderful prayer full of love, tears, and thanksgiving. When the prayer was over it was silent as everyone was caught up in their own thoughts. Audrey promptly and loudly declares....."That was the longest prayer ever!" Well there you go. Best days Ever!

We made the trip over the Rockies to Loa, Utah for Thanksgiving. Traditionally we ladies cook the day away with the men gone to slaughter the rabbits. Then we join back together to eat our fill in the Lyman church house. After the meal we clean up and play games until we can't stand it any longer.

We have enjoyed Audrey in Kindergarten. She has had quite a few class parties. Here she was a pilgrim for their class FEAST! Audrey didn't eat very much of it, but it was fun to go and have her sing and watch her interact with her classmates.

I love to watch children explore and learn. We had a fun day going to the children's museum the kids found the paints and stood inside a giant bubble. They also had a little cubby with dress-ups as animals with caves and holes to climb into. Audrey loved that part. Zack loved the little bears house where the bed was just his size and the little boat where he could fish. All in all a wonderful day.

My Turn on Earth!

In November 2010 Audrey had the opportunity to be in the play My Turn on Earth with our Stake her in Colorado. She LOOOOOOVED!!! it. She was such a doll. We had fun watching her. Grandma Brown and Grandma Peterson were both able to see her perform. Thanks for coming and supporting us. Audrey was amazing by learning her part fast, staying on the beat, and singing out loud and proud.

Fall

I love the fall, especially when we get to carve pumpkins. I helped Audrey carver hers and Ryan helped Zack. The final product was a flower for Audrey and a basket ball for Zack. Although the kids had a great time. Zack was putting the filling back into the pumpkin as fast as Ryan could take it out. Eventually the kids ended up on the table playing with the seeds and the guts of the pumpkins
Our ward Halloween party! We had a great time. They had all the classic party games that the kids loved and some of the members went all out on decorating their trunks. I wish that I could say this is our trunk, but alas it is not. Audrey had some friends come that are from school and that was fun to share the experience with others

Happy Halloween! Audrey wanted to be a flower (yes... this describes my Audrey perfectly) Zack well... he loves animals right now and is learning all the sounds so when I found this puppy at the store I just had to do it. Audrey had a fall party at school that we attended and had a great time. She even shared her cookie with Zack. I put on a witches hat for the school party, then Ryan and I were Thing 1 and Thing 2 at the ward party.

We have loved Audrey's school. They have done alot of activities already and the school year isn't even half over. Here is Audrey at her Fun Run day! She had a lot of fun going from activity to activity. The only down side was after a running game. She threw up so.... we went home. Even though we had a short day she still had fun. BEST FRIENDS! Who could ask for more. Audrey is such a good big sister. She is helpful and kind to Zack. Oh sure they have their squabbles, but all in all they are really good friends. Audrey was cuddled up on the couch and of course.... Zackery had to join her.

Primary Safety Day! Although we had rain, about the 5th time it has rained here, the fire engine still came. The kids loved it. Zack had a blast he listened intently and even had a chance to walk through it. They had police officers as well as a talk on 'putting on our armour' for our spiritual strength. It was put together very well. Oh yeah and Audrey did 'pose' without being told too! She cocked her leg and hands on hip just for the picture.We are now a family of bikes. We have been out on several occasions and have had a wonderful time. You may be thinking well... Audrey can ride and Ryan and I how about Zack? Well... since Ryan has such good balance he acutally has taped a pillow on the middle bar of his bike and Zack will hold onto the handle bars and ride. Ryan even took Zack on a mountain biking trip this way. Good thing Zack has balance as well.

Painting! Audrey loves to paint and draw. Her thing right now is making books. She got to pick the activity last night for family home evening and of course we each made a book. It was actually really fun. Well since Zackery has to do everything that sister does here he is doing his first masterpiece. He actually managed to get some paint onto the paper and in different colors as well. Although he did enjoy trying to eat the paint. Thank heavens for crayola washable, non toxic paint.
Grandparents Day! Audrey's school has done some fun things already. She had Grandparents Day and grandma Peterson was able to come. They had a blast getting to spend some time together making a craft and we went out to eat lunch at Audrey's favorite, Chicken and rice! (chinese food) Thanks Grandma for taking to time to come and make Audrey's day unforgettable. Also Lisa (sister-in-law) came as well and we spent the time doing some awesome shopping.

We took a trip to Grand Junction to visit the Belnap family. While we were there they blessed their new baby girl, and grandma watched the children while a bunch of us went mountain biking. It was a blast! We had a ton of fun and are now hooked. Ryan promptly went out and bought us each a bike. We are looking forward to starting this new hobby.

We LOVE the parks around our house. Here is one that is close by and across from the Library as well so we go there a lot. Audrey decided to try hanging upside down and of course Zack had to too. There are some tubes to climb through, whick is Zackery's favorite place. Then the slides are Audrey's favorite.

Welcome to Kindergaten Audrey! Here is Audrey's first day of Kindergarten. We went to the fabric store and she picked out some fabric and we made this dress just for her and it is her favorite. She wanted to wear it the first day!

Here with Zackery at her school. It is located just up the road from us. We get to drive her everyday and Zack loves going there and picking her up.

Taking pictures outside right before she goes in. She loved it. She came home that day and said, "Mom my teacher is funny, and she wears pretty shoes!" She loves it and goes right in without even looking back. There weren't any tears on her part!

We took the kids to an amusement park and they loved it. Audrey couldn't get enough of the roller coaster. Although as Zack liked being there he was very serious when he rode the rides. We could hardly get him to crack a smile. It was funny as he is usually such a smiley kid.

Here is my Zackery. He is such a boy.... very daring. He loves to swim on his own in the pool with floaties. I have to watch and make sure that he doesn't just sit and drink the water. Yes.. that is him all by himself at 15 months.

We love to go swimming! We have a pool here at our apartment and Audrey has become a fish with it. She has gotten so daring and is swimming very well. She didn't have any swim lessons this year and I think that we will wait until next summer to do them. She has learned well on her own.

Niagara Falls!

Are we crazy or what..... we visited all of these sites that you are going to see in one day. The first day of our trip to drive out to Denver. Well I couldn't live that close to one of the 7 wonders of the world and not have seen it. So... we went. It was cool. The kids loved it and we enjoyed some ice cream and stretching of the legs as we begun our journey to our new home.

Sacred Grove!

A sacred place as well as a sacred experience to walk on the ground where God the Eternal Father and Jesus Christ visited the boy Joseph Smith. You can feel the spirit as you enter the trees and walk quietly on the paths. My soul is overjoyed to have shared this experience with many of our family and friends. We will truly miss being so close to such a wonderful place.

Here we are in beautiful, sunny Florida. We had a wonderful spring break. Ryan actually had time off and we enjoyed some undivided attention from him. We were able to attend general conference in a church building right across the street from the Temple.

We loved the city... of course we had to make all of the kid stops. Zack loves the water and here we are in Rockefeller center and he is playing in the fountain pools.
Next we had to make a stop at American Girl and get Audrey her first doll. She chose Kit and we got the mini one. Maybe later she can have one of the 'big girl' dolls.
Finally we made a stop at FAO Squarts (I don't think that is how you spell it) Anyway the kids loved playing on the big piano.

New York City

Our wonderful tourist guide!!!! Doorly... thank you for taking us around and showing us the city. We loved getting together with Doorly and the kids. Her family was so kind to us allowing us to stay at their house.

We loved seeing the Manhattan, NY temple. Ironically (well not really) we met someone from the west there at the temple and had a little chat, what a small world it is.

We managed to snap a shot at the bull. I really don't know why it is so famous, but we saw it. Ha Ha Ha

Tourist Sites!

So many sites... so little time. We loved being in the city. We have lived in NY for a year and a half and this is the first time we have made it to the city. The weather was beautiful and the kids did great. It was fun experiencing all of the sites through Ryan's fresh eyes. (I've been before, he hasn't)

Welcome our new little boy! Here he is..... we love him to pieces. We are very happy to have him here. He is a mellow little fellow so far...... he is eating well and has gained some weight. He has a whole head hair and I am hoping that it stays and doesn't fall out. He is still sleeping and eating a lot. His awake time has been more in the evening with going to bed at midnight then waking up once to feed. He has clear blue eyes and we are anxiously awaiting the first little smile. Carousel Capital

We are lucky to live in the carousel capital of the United States. There are carousels in the parks and they opened up on Memorial Day. They run all summer and they are free. You can ride and ride. So... we had our first carousel ride. Audrey was a little shy at first but we worked our way up from riding the sleigh to a non-moving horse to a moving one. She enjoyed it and Zackery slept through it all.

Hello Handsome. Zackery Ryan Peterson! We love our boy. He was born on May 10, 2009
7 lbs. 2 oz. @ 12:48 20.5 inches long. We had quite the journey getting him here. We made it to the due date with some multiple testing to hear his heart beat and make sure things were okay. After a week of that they finally admitted me on Saturday night. After laboring all night in the morning we did an epideral and things were able to relax and fully dialate. Two and a half hours later of pushing and the doctor tried the vacumn three times and he just wasn't coming out so.... we did a C-section. Ryan was able to srub in on the surgery and was the one who got to pull him out.

Here we are with our darling girl. She is so funny.... every day she surprises us with the things that she says and does. She has recently started to make funny faces. Much to our consternation this usually happens when we are trying to sit down and eat! She had also started to wear dresses and only dresses. Paint her nails every time we have a tub, play with her babies, and call all of her stuffed animals her 'children'. Oh yes and don't forget the tea parties. She is a girly girl.

At the start of the New Year Audrey became a sunbeam. She was very excited about the new class and teachers. She is the only girl in her class with 5 other boys.... Yes.... we have a ward of boys, but she does well. Last Sunday on the 18th she was assigned to give the prayer in primary. She did an excellent job. What a big girl she is.

Audrey and daddy went sliegh riding on New Years Day. We missed the Peterson tow behind the truck with the knee boards, but tried to make up for it on a little hill with our own sleigh. Mommy and baby even went with Audrey. She had a wonderful time and loved screaming all the way down the hill.

WOW!!!!! For Santa.... he sure knew just what Audrey wanted. Santa had her new house all set up and ready for play when Audrey came down the stairs. She ran down and paused when she saw it. She didn't really know what to say.... but it didn't take long for her to run to it and start playing and playing and playing. Needless to say from watching movies, playing tea party, and sleeping in it we haven't been able to get her out of it. We are excited to add in all of the cute furniture that you can buy.

Oh... the joy of Christmas through a child's eyes. Audrey loved opening all of the wonderful gifts that she got. Here in the first picture she is excited to give daddy his present that was from her. A toy motorcycle.... of course. Next she got her present from her cousin Lily from Seattle who had her name and it was equally well recieved. The puppy instantly became one with all of the other puppies in her collection.

Audrey had a wonderful time decorating the tree. We definantly have a 'kid zone'. We had to explain after a little while that the ornaments needed to go all over the tree. She did an excellent job. We had a ton of fun and we are very pleased with the height and width of our tree. And not to mention that it smells absolutley delicious.

It was a wonderful day for getting our christmas tree. We had Ryan all to ourselves all day long and we spent the day getting our tree. The Sunny Hill Farm is where we went to pick it out and they were very nice people. They let us use a sled to get the tree and Audrey loved riding along. Eventually she got cold and we hurried and picked out a tree.

That is right.... We cut down our own tree this year. No shotgun!!!!! Then we stuffed it into the trunk of our car, because..... Ryan accidently left his truck key in the 'on position' so we here we are with the car. It was hanging out of the trunk and we drove a little slowly.

Five months next week and here is the tummy. I feel as though I got big really fast at the first and then I have slowed down, but it is still fun. I am enjoying every minute of the pregnancy and have only to say that it is going by so fast! For all of those who don't know what we are having...... well it is..... A BOY! Hurray. I felt as though it was a boy all along and am very pleased to have the little guy on the way.

We were able to go to the hospital Christmas party. We had a ton of fun. It was really kid friendly and obviously Audrey was "so excited" to see santa. That is her " so excited" face. Of course she told santa that she wanted a car, with keys, that she can drive. She also.... said HO HO HO into the microphone. She wasn't as shy as we thought she would be. At the party they gave all of the doctors that came a present as well. And of course they gave Ryan a Tractor.

Can you see the lovely wallpaper. I had a time of it getting it off of the walls, but I think the final color was worth it. I wasn't exactly 'hip' on the blue, but Lisa talked me into it and I am glad that she did. I think that it is beautiful.... I understand that some would see it as maybe not the color they would pick, but I like it.

We had a 'quiet' thanksgiving with the three of us! We had a fun time with Cliff & Lisa here helping with the house. And so... we did our own Thanksgiving at our house. The first holiday that we have spent as the Ryan Peterson Family.

Happy Halloween! Audrey was Belle for Halloween. We had a great time. She was able to 'trick or treat' at the library and do a 'parade' with the other children.

BOO AT THE ZOO!

Audrey was able to attend boo at the zoo.... she played games, had her face painted, and a petting zoo. It was a little cold, but we had a great time. She had a crown painted on her fore-head! What a princess!

Okay everyone! I am going to tell the story of how I told Ryan we were pregnant. I am sorry that some of you are hearing this for the first time, but we were a little busy either crying or laughing about the good news that I didn't get to tell the tale. So... first of all Audrey is holding a 'chore chart'. Ryan and I had previously decided that we were going to do a FHE for Audrey and learn about the importance of working. So there was a movie that she wanted and we decided that she would use her chore chart and work towards it. So..... when I found out that I was pregnant I decided to tie it into our FHE. I made Audrey's chore chart then blew up balloons and filled the balloons with little papers. She was able to go around and find the balloons that had papers in them and pop the balloon to find out what her 'chores' would be. So.... we had a fun time doing that. After we were finished with that activity I had previously wrapped a large box up and put it in the middle of the room with a big bow on it. Then when Audrey was done with her activity I said, "Now let's find out what dad's 'chores' will be. Ryan was halarious he just looked at me like, 'I don't have chores' so I encourged him to open the present. What he found inside was..... newborn diapers. At first he thought it meant that he had to take care of Audrey's potty training or something like that. Then he saw the size and just looked at me and said 'WHAT'..... I just nodded my head and he said 'WHAT' and I just nodded my head..... and anyway you get the idea. It took him a while to get it, I think it was still a couple of days later before he really believed me. It was a lot of fun.

Our year in travel is finally coming to a close. We have touched the east coast to the west coast. From Virginia Beach to Seattle. Audrey is a well traveled young lady. She just recently turned three and is an angel. We are anxiously awaiting more fun to come in the NY sun!

Moving!

We are finally moving! Yeah.... it has been two months since we have tried to close on our home in NY! What an ordeal it has been! But.... Ryan was able to be in Utah for Audrey's birthday and then it all worked out for him to load up the truck. He drove across the country to NY in a 26ft. Diesel! Phew... am I glad that I didn't have to do it. Thank you Ryan for taking care of our stuff and helping relieve the stress of the move for me. Audrey and I will follow in a week where we will close on the house and move in!

Barbie Cake! That is what Audrey wanted for her 3rd birthday! I am not sure who was excited more.... her or me. I had a wonderful time thinking it all through and making the cake. I did have a couple of mishaps with it... but all in all I think that it turned out nicely.

OOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! She got it, her very own doll house! Audrey loved it and played and played and played with it. Even her 12 yr. old cousin Brinlee loved it and played with it. So... I am thinking that we will get a few years of enjoyment out of it. She was thrilled. Ryan and I were as well when it was all put together and we say how BIG it is! 5' tall!

Allyson and Audrey have had a lot of time to get to know one another. They do enjoy playing with their babies, dolls, and dress up. We are glad we had this year to get to know her better. They are five months apart in age with Audrey being older. Everywhere we go Janielle and I get asked if they are twins!

Swim Lessons

Hello from Manti, Utah. Audrey had swim lessons with her cousins, Tyler and Allyson. They all loved them. Audrey and Allyson were in the same class and were two 'Little Fishes'! The instructor was wonderful and advised that both the girls were ready to move up next year to swimming lessons on their own!

It was a beautiful day with the water luke warm. The kids enjoyed swimming in the river. We got alot of sun, but I think some of it missed on Ryan! Look at those muscles....PHEW! Audrey is a little fish! Another successful trip with the Peterson family! Ryan requested a trip to the park and the desert of southern utah before he headed out to Binghamton, NY to start his residency.

Softball

Here in Richfield we enter the softball capital of Utah....well maybe, maybe not. We had fun watching the Peterson boys play. The team allowed Ryan to play and of course with the three of them they were unstopable. They won the game, we had dinner with the family, and headed back over the hill to do some more farming.

In the mountains of southern Utah! We went for a Sunday picnic for Father's Day with the Peterson clan. We had a great time dipping our toes in the water and eating some fried chicken and potatoes. The kids sang 'I'm so glad when daddy comes home' and served their father's the lunch. Then Ryan and I challenged all of the couples there to horseshoes and..... won of course. We are still the Peterson Family Horse Shoe Champions. There is always next year for anyone else to challenge us!

Congratulations Ryan! We all love YOU! An amazing person Ryan is. He graduated 3rd in his class with many honors. Some of them being an award for being in the top 10%. He was the speaker at his graduation dinner, which was fantastic. He also recieved an award in biomechanics with a thousand dollar check and books published by one of the leading doctors in biomechanics. The award was presented by the family of the Doctor.

I love daddy! Here we are at the graduation ceremony. Audrey caught up with Ryan to try on his cap. Then danced her way through the ceremony in the isles. Also Grandma & Grandpa Peterson had a nice rest. The ceremony was 2 hours and finally at the end did we see Ryan walk across the stage and.... we are a Doctor!

Slide rock! What a fun time we had. We are on a week long journey with my family to go to Ryan's graduation. We had a great time stopping and camping and visisting the sights along the way. Everyone who did the slide loved it. We even got Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bruce to go. They we awesome!

Easter egg hunt in the sand. Audrey loved the egg hunt with Ryker and Hali. The Easther Bunny did find us in the desert. Audrey recieved some hair bows, cand, and a new sunday dress. AMAZING!!! We made it to the windlift. It was incredible. Here the pictures show the waves in the sand. You hike up this ridge and mountain to reach this bowl, hole with sand. The peterson's said that the wind can really blow here. We had good luck and the wind was only minimal. BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

We love to hike! On a trip again to the windlift in the desert near Escalante. Audrey is a natural climber trying to go into places she wasn't quite ready to go. She had fun finding marble rocks, riding on daddy's shoulders, and laughing with Hali and Ryker.

We found some slot canyons on our trip to the Desert for Easter. Audrey was fantastic she wanted to climb and go through the canyon 'all by herself'. She was a lot eager than I was. I couldn't believe how much she enjoyed climbing.

Four Corners

Another stop on the road in New Mexico. We visited the four corners monument and walked through four states in one day. We had fun although I don't think the pictures do justice to how windy it was that day. Audrey couldn't even keep her eyes open for the pictures.

Some of our time spent in New Mexico we took a trip to Monument Valley where Ryan does some work at a clinic there! We took a trip through the park. It was beautiful. Amazing all of the Lord's majestic creations. In the middle we are standing by the totem pole which has been featured in movies. Then Ryan and Audrey at the end are by the mittens.

Phoenix seems like a lifetime ago. But we get back together and it feels as though we never left each other. We had a great time joining up with the Rigby's and Winegars. We miss them and loved seeing them again. The Rigby's blessed their new baby boy.

Here we are with the Peterson family at the 'sheep shearing'. The kids loved it. They touched the sheep and loved watching them come in hairy and go out with a haircut. They played on the hay and ran around in the fields. We had a wonderful day!
